AbbotsfordFIRST elects Marion Keys as president

April 22, 2019 (Abbotsford, BC) - The AbbotsfordFIRST Electors Society has announced its new executive team after holding its 2019 annual general meeting.

Marion Keys has been elected president of AbbotsfordFIRST. Keys is an active participant in the community where she’s a long-term Rotarian (Abbotsford Rotary club), a board member at Maplewood Care Society and an organizer for the Holmberg Memorial Golf Classic on behalf of the Abbotsford Hospice Society.

 AbbotsfordFIRST provides the opportunity for local residents to be involved in the process of government in a positive way and provides support for council candidates from diverse backgrounds to work together to better our community.” said Keys. “My family has been in Abbotsford for a long time and I have seen our community grow.  I want this growth to continue along positive and inclusive lines and I will continue to work hard with AbbotsfordFIRST to make that happen.”

Keys thanked outgoing president Markus Delves for his service: “Markus’s term as president saw him lead our organization through our second successful election. He has a passion for building a better Abbotsford and we are grateful for his leadership over the past two years.”

Ann Penner, Kathleen Robinson and Bob Blue will continue to serve as vice president, secretary and treasurer, respectively.
